In Which: I ramble for a while about my current status

When I first got married, I vowed to myself never to start a blog. Mostly because I feel like all the young, married people I know tend to over-broadcast the details of their life to the world. I am not a big fan of the public mushiness that I see running rampant on my newsfeed. Unlike my peers, on my husband's birthday, I do not feel the need to post "Happy birthday to the hunkiest hunk in the whole wide world!!" Followed or preceded by a lengthy, gushy paragraph about why my "hunk" happens to be the best. Instead, I wish him a happy day to his face and we eat his favorite foods and give gifts.

So, why in the world am I writing a blog?

Firstly, because I have a terrible memory and journaling is one of the best ways for me to remember and look back on the great things that happen to me. And secondly, because I am the worst communicator on the planet, I am hoping this will help me to bridge the gap a little between me and the most important people in my life.

So. Who am I and what is my current status? Let's get all up to date here before I move on.

I am Cassandra--born in California, but I lived in Vancouver, Washington from the age of 3 until I graduated high school. After high school, I moved out to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. I met the love of my life during the summer after my freshman year when I stayed on in Utah because I couldn't get a job back home. A year and a half later, we got married on a beautiful fall Saturday in Portland. Scott graduated with a BS in Exercise Science, and I am a few months away from a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. In January, we will be moving to Salem, Oregon where I have an internship with Salem Health Laboratories. Salem is just an hour away from my hometown, so I am super excited to be back in my native Pacific Northwest!! Scott is currently working on resumes and grad school applications--we are excited for what he will do next.

So, that's me. Now the only direction to move is onward. Forward to adventure!!

  1. I finally made it through all your blog posts, and may I just say I love you more now than before! This whole blogging thing was a great way to help those of us who don't see you as often as we would like to feel closer to you!
